I’m Cathy Laundy and I am a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist in North Saanich, BC.

My husband and I have lived in beautiful North Saanich for the past 19 years. We share our home with our lively black lab “Jasper” and loving tabby cat “Roo”, who will likely be your first greeters at Ebb + Flow!

In our free time, my husband and I love to camp, surf, paddle board and travel.

My Story

Several years ago, just before my 50th birthday, Anxiety - and its jerky friends Insomnia and Self-Doubt - decided to introduce themselves to me. I remember the day and it sent me on a unpleasant journey.

At that time, I was already a few years into menopause and feeling the dread of my emotional and physical symptoms; the increasing tension & stress, worry, self doubt, and bouts of sleeplessness and insomnia were becoming increasingly common occurrences and interfering with my quality of life.

I was always tired; my motivation to go out and socialize came from guilt rather than desire, foggy brained and arriving with a sense of “I should” rather than “I’d love to!”

In 2015, a friend recommended a 5-day transformational living workshop on Gabriola Island called “Come Alive”. This event was an  opportunity to revitalize my life, discover and activate my resources and realize my full potential. She had attended “Come Alive” the year before  and knew it was exactly what I needed to help dig me out of my funk.

Those 5 days truly changed my thinking. It was okay to have anxiety, it was okay to worry, but it was not okay to let these obstacles stop me from living my life.

It was also at Come Alive that I had my first Reflexology session. I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first thinking “What could possibly come out of someone touching my feet?”

Apparently, a lot does happen!

After my session, I felt a bit nauseous and sleepy, which are common reactions that happen when energy is cleared from the physical and energetic bodies. But what I noticed the most was how relaxed I felt.

For the first time in a long time I could not feel my vibrating heart palpitations and had more than a 4 hour sleep without waking, and after a another session, the palpitations lessened, I still get them but not as much as I used to.

Needless-to-say, my curiosity about Reflexology was immediately piqued. If in one treatment I can feel this good, what happens when I have more? And what are the implications of regular Reflexology healing for other women suffering with menopausal symptoms?

I wanted to learn all I could about this complementary healing modality as I saw a passion-project opportunity of offering Reflexology to women in Sidney & North Saanich in a private, safe and respectful environment to facilitate their journey back to their whole selves. I took the course through the Reflexology Association of Canada and became a Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist in January 2017.
